a good balance.
one of the editors I work with is getting married next weekend. To wish her well, the staff got together and celebrated with cake and champagne. After the toast, she said her thanks and mentioned that it’s probably because of Bon Appetit that she was able to meet her fiance. Since working with the magazine, she’s finally been able to be happy with her professional life, which in turn has had a positive effected on her personal life.
I shared this comment with Lynn as we caught up over the phone. Talking about our jobs and how we continue to learn more and more about our professions, how we can fit into the roll and what we’d like to accomplish for our individual needs. It’s become apparent to us both, as it was described above, that it is important to have that balance between our personal and professional lives as despite their seperate entities, they inevitably do effect eachother.
