planaria

the following was an e-mail from Nina at work, sometimes you wonder why we start talking about these things. Just thought I'd share.

Attached, please find a few pics of the aforementioned planaria. Here's a little bit of what I found online:

"Planarians have extraordinary powers of regeneration and they normally reproduce by pulling in two. The fragments then regenerate their missing parts."

I had the pleasure of cutting one in half in junior high and it did, indeed, regenerate. Amazing and gross, all at the same time. Gotta' love science!
